About the Supervisor
At Inscape Therapies, supervision is led by Brian Smith, a consultant-level therapist with over 28 years of full-time clinical experience. Sessions—offered one-on-one or in groups, both in person and online—create a safe and supportive space to:
Reflect on clinical practice
Explore therapeutic challenges
Strengthen emotional resilience
Enhance musical and psychological insight
Supervision Approach
Brian works within a person-centred approach, inviting supervisees to engage in music-making as a way to externalise internal experiences. This creative exploration offers a powerful lens through which to understand their work both musically and psychologically.

Drawing on specialisms in depth psychology, attachment theory, trauma-informed care, and training in Group Analysis, Brian’s supervision is relational, creative, and grounded in broad clinical experience across education, healthcare, and community settings.

Who It's For
Brian also provides international supervision for music therapists working across diverse cultural and clinical landscapes, offering insight and support wherever they are in the world.

Whether you're just beginning your professional journey or deepening your practice, supervision at Inscape Therapies nurtures growth, creativity, and reflective integrity.
